The Philadelphia Spinners announced the signing of three more veterans to the 2016 roster: Michael Panna, Gabe Colton and Tom O’Connor.
The Spinners have now announced 15 returning players to their 2016 roster, giving new Head Coach Darryl Stanley a solid core of experienced veterans.
Panna (5’9″, 152lbs) has been a member of the Spinners since the beginning, now entering his fourth season in the MLU. A hybrid player, Panna has been placed into almost every role imaginable over his time with the Spinners. In his career, Panna has played 135 O-line points and 319 D-Line points. Across three seasons, Panna, an Alvernia University product, has tallied 16 goals, 29 assists and 18 blocks, while carrying a 88% competition percentage.
Colton (5’8, 147lbs), out of Brandeis University, enters his third season with the Spinners in 2016. A quick and capable defender, Colton has played 246 of his 268 career points on the Spinner’s D-Line. Over his MLU career, Colton has racked up 6 goals, 14 assists and 8 blocks, with a career 47.8% Defensive Turnover Efficiency (DTE).
O’Connor (6’1″, 170lbs) re-signs with the Spinners after a solid rookie campaign in 2015. A physical and versatile athlete, O’Connor played all but one of his 63 points on the D-Line, proving capable of covering both handlers and cutters. O’Connor, out of East Stroudsburg University, also gave opponents fits after the turn, developing into a valuable downfield threat on breaks. As a rookie, O’Connor scored 4 goals and registered 6 blocks, completing 90.5% of his throws.
