The Spinners and Major League Ultimate announced today a partnership with Physiclo, a New York based training apparel company.
The Philadelphia Spinners and Major League Ultimate have partnered with Physiclo for the 2016 season, announcing the relationship with the apparel company on Friday.
“Major League Ultimate is proud to be working with one of the most innovative companies around. The opportunity for pro and amateur players to improve their fitness in a new exciting way is endless.” said Jonathan MacQueen, VP of Partnership Development for MLU.
Founded by a group of medical students in 2013, Physiclo’s line of workout apparel uses resistance band technology to assist athletes in activating key muscle groups, enhancing heart rate and calorie burn, and maximize productivity during sessions.
“Physiclo is excited to partner with MLU and the Philadelphia Spinners to bring our resistance clothing technology to Ultimate Frisbee athletes. Our mission is to change the way people train by building resistance into sleek workout apparel, helping them challenge their bodies and make their workouts more productive than ever.” said Frank Yao and Keeth Smart, Co-Founders of Physiclo.
As part of the partnership, Physiclo will be outfitting the Spinners with training apparel for the 2016 MLU season. The Eastern Conference’s 2015 Rookie of the Year, Spinner’s own Billy Sickles had a chance to run through a workout equiped with Physiclo resistance shorts, and shared his excitement at the addition to his training regimen:
“Physiclo will be an effective asset to my training this off-season in preparation for 2016. Everyone is looking to gain an edge, and Physiclo is going to be a part of all my workouts and cross training to ensure I am maximizing my efforts to improve my explosiveness and agility. You don’t feel it too much during the workout, like it’s not in the way. But after you can tell that your legs worked hard.”
Coming off their best season to date, spoiled only by a series of late season losses, the Spinners will appreciate the edge that their partnership with Physiclo will afford them during training, helping the team reach their ultimate goal – an MLU Championship title.
