On November 2, 2014, the Philadelphia Spinners players and staff will participate in the Race for Hope Philadelphia to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.

Race for Hope Philadelphia is an event to raise awareness and resources to fund critical brain tumor research. Hosted by the National Brain Tumor Society, the race offers individuals and teams a chance to honor and remember loved ones, connect with others affected by the disease and help to educate the local community.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on November 2, 2014 at the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. The day includes pre-event activities prior to the 8:30 a.m. race start.

The Spinners will be running and supporting the Property of J.J.A. team in honor of James Armbruster. Jim was a huge Philly sports and Spinners fan who attended the Spinners’ first game in 2012. He continued attending Spinners home game for the remainder of the championship season. Jim was diagnosed with a brain tumor in April of 2013 and lost his battle with cancer just six months later on September 24, 2013. His family is running in his honor to raise funds for others diagnosed with life-threatening brain tumors.

The Spinners encourage everyone to donate and sign up. To register or make a donation to Property of J.J.A., please visit the Property of J.A.A team site or contact Tricia Crouse-Pardini at tricia@philadelphiaspinners.com.
