Height: 6’2″ Weight: 175 Age: 24
Goals: 8 Assists: 5 Blocks: 4
MLU Experience: 1
A new addition to a Spinners roster that brought home the title in 2016, Mike Arcata was a pleasant surprise to the Philadelphia faithful. On a roster full of veterans and more established players, Arcata quickly made his presence felt on the field for the Spinners.
The 24-year old cutter, a product of the University of Connecticut played sparingly in his first two games with the Spinners, tallying only a single goal on 11 points played. However, after a injury to starting deep threat Himalaya Mehta, Arcata was suddenly thrust into a more significant role in Coach Darryl Stanley‘s offense. A tall, long receiver with good hands and a good feel for cutting to open space, Arcata helped stretch the defense and keep Philly’s offense moving.
On the season, Arcata registered 8 goals, 5 assists and 4 blocks, while completing over 90% of his passes, proving to be a stable and consistent offensive weapon for a team that relied on depth to make it all the way the the MLU Championship.
