A physical and dominating force on defense, Esser has been a fan favorite since joining the Spinners in 2014. Known for his energy, athleticism and mohawk hairstyle, the Millersville University product became a critical part of the Philadelphia D-line in his first season, tallying 21 goals, 13 assists and 9 blocks on his way to being named the 2014 Eastern Conference Rookie of the Year.

A big, physical defender, Esser uses his size and deceptive speed to put himself in position to make the play. Esser followed up his strong rookie campaign with two solid seasons as the cornerstone of the Spinners defense that contributed to the franchise’s first championship title in 2016. Esser posted double-digit blocks to lead the team in both 2015 and 2016, and proved to be one of the most potent scoring threats after the turn, finishing 4th on the team in goals scored this past season.
